Dell Technologies Accelerates the Development of AI and Generative AI


Dell's CEO warns that global memory demand for AI accelerators is experiencing explosive growth, and it is expected to surge 625 times by 2028 compared to 2023. This 'jump' in growth is primarily driven by both the capacity per machine and the scale of deployment, putting immense pressure on the semiconductor supply chain, with the imbalance between supply and demand unlikely to be resolved in the short term.
Recently, SenseTime's Vimi Camera was officially renamed to Performance Package APP and has been launched in major app stores. According to reports, the Performance Package APP is an AI performance application designed for creative and expressive content creators, featuring powerful generation functions and an active creative community. Users can easily portray classic characters through the AI role-playing feature; utilize the AI voice changer to achieve a variety of voice transformations; and interact with other creators in the creative community to spark more creative ideas.
According to South Korean media The Elec, Apple has recently requested Samsung to start researching a new packaging method for Low Power Double Data Rate (LPDDR) DRAM in order to further enhance the edge AI performance of the iPhone. This requirement marks Apple's continued efforts to enhance the AI capabilities of its devices. Currently, Apple's iPhone uses a Package on Package (PoP) solution, stacking LPDDR DRAM directly on top of the System on Chip (SoC), a design that has been in use since 2010.

Dell Technologies Group's second-quarter fiscal report for 2025 demonstrates strong performance, with total revenue reaching $25.026 billion, a year-over-year increase of 9%. The Infrastructure Solutions Group performed impressively, generating $11.6 billion in revenue, a 38% increase, with server and networking revenue jumping 80% to $7.7 billion. However, the storage business reported revenue of $4 billion, down 5%. The Client Solutions Group's revenue was $12.4 billion, reflecting a 4% year-over-year decline.
