Recently, the Alibaba Qwen app has been deployed in hotel scenarios, with the "Touch to Wake" feature based on NFC technology first introduced in several partner hotels. Guests just need to lightly touch the Qwen NFC sticker with their phone to instantly activate the Qwen app, and receive personalized content such as local attraction tours, specialty dining, and transportation routes based on their location, while also synchronously claiming Taobao flash sale coupons and other benefits. This feature is built upon the existing Tmall Genie smart speaker hardware in the rooms. It was initially launched in popular tourist cities such as Hangzhou, Guangzhou, and Kunming, with plans to cover tens of thousands of guest rooms before the Spring Festival.
After waking up the Qwen app through the "Touch to Wake" feature, users can directly ask questions via voice, such as: "I want to try local delicacies, do you have any reliable old shops?" or "What are the must-visit attractions nearby?" The Qwen app will immediately generate richly illustrated recommendations and intelligently filter them based on real data from Gaode Street Ranking and Fliggy.

When facing complex needs such as "customized travel plans," the Qwen app can design personalized itineraries based on the user's budget and interests. Not only are the plans detailed, but they also deeply integrate the Alibaba ecosystem, allowing users to directly jump from the Qwen response to Gaode Map for route planning, Fliggy to book tickets, and Flash Sales to order local delicacies, achieving an efficient transition from "planning" to "execution."
In addition, the Qwen app also supports AI-based attraction explanations, intelligent removal of people in photos, and one-click generation of WeChat Moments posts, making the travel experience more convenient and enriching.
According to the report, relying on the existing hotel partnership network of Tmall Genie, the Qwen app will accelerate its coverage in guest room scenarios after the Spring Festival and gradually extend to scenic spots, airports, and other travel scenarios, accelerating the transformation of AI assistants from "being able to chat" to "being able to handle tasks."
