On the 15th, Alibaba officially responded to the rumor that Qwen would collaborate with Apple's AI, confirming that Alibaba's Qwen large model will be integrated as AI capabilities into Apple Intelligence. Previously, on July 8th, the Cyberspace Administration of China announced that the "Apple Intelligence" large model of Apple Technology Development (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. had been officially registered, applicable scenarios being Apple phones. Its domestic partners include not only Alibaba, but also Baidu (which focuses on developing AI-based search functions and upgrading the Chinese version of Siri).
This collaboration will bring a seamless localized intelligent experience for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS users in mainland China. Relying on Qwen's powerful text and image understanding, as well as content generation capabilities, Apple users will no longer need to switch between different applications in the future, but can directly access Qwen's AI features within the system's native ecosystem. This move marks a new stage in the integration of the ecosystem between domestic large model giants and global leading hardware manufacturers.
With multi-modal applications and system-level AI agents becoming industry consensus, Alibaba Qwen has successfully embedded itself into the Apple hardware ecosystem, thanks to its technical accumulation among top-tier large models. This not only brings a large and high-quality user traffic and continuous ecological synergistic value to Alibaba, but also accelerates the paradigm shift of AI edge applications from "independent apps" to "system-native experiences," providing a strong benchmark demonstration for the commercialization and ecological prosperity of edge-side AI in China.
