Meta Plans to Launch Generative AI Models in 2026


Pangram's research shows that generative AI is overwhelming social media: one-quarter of posts longer than 250 words are AI-generated. Professional platform LinkedIn has become a hotbed for long-form AI spam content. The data comes from monitoring over one million posts across five platforms between April and June 2026, revealing the current prevalence of AI-generated content.
Meta launched an AI image generator called Muse Image, which allows users to modify others' photos by "@"ing public Instagram accounts. However, the feature lacked a notification mechanism, leading to strong opposition from users and agencies like CAA, resulting in a privacy controversy.
Meta launched its flagship large model Muse Spark 1.1, focusing on multi-agent automation workflows. It is now available for public beta through AI chat services and API. The model consists of a master agent responsible for planning and sub-agents that execute tasks according to instructions. At the start of the project, the master agent automatically generates an execution plan.
Tencent is negotiating to become the largest shareholder of Singapore AI startup Manus, after Meta's $2B acquisition was ordered revoked. Existing backers including Tencent, ZhenFund, and Sequoia China plan to support the revocation at the same valuation, with Tencent subscribing for the most shares and possibly retaining a minority stake.....
Meta is accelerating its self-developed AI chip initiative, collaborating with Broadcom and TSMC to develop a processor codenamed "Iris," expected to enter mass production in September 2026. The chip is the core of the MTIA project, having passed initial testing, aiming to optimize platform recommendations and generative algorithms, reduce data center costs, and gradually reduce reliance on third-party GPUs.
