On the competitive track of the artificial intelligence computing power market, another major collaboration has emerged. Recently, energy infrastructure company TeraWulf has reached a deep strategic agreement with AI giant Anthropic, and the two will engage in long-term cooperation on high-performance data centers to jointly address the growing demand for AI model training.
The core of this collaboration is a 20-year data center lease agreement. The "Justified Data" site of TeraWulf located in Hawesville, Kentucky, will become an important computing power base for Anthropic. This project is ambitious, with a maximum facility capacity of 401 megawatts, and is expected to be officially operational by the second half of 2027, with full capacity expected to be achieved by early 2028. With the surge in AI computing power demand, this collaboration is expected to bring TeraWulf about $19 billion in long-term contract revenue, becoming a key growth point in its business portfolio.
At the same time, TeraWulf is further optimizing its asset allocation. The company has agreed to sell the majority of its interests in the Abernathy project in Texas to an investor consortium led by Fluidstack. It is reported that the project has a total capacity of 168 megawatts, and TeraWulf is transferring 50.1% of its interests, aiming to reallocate resources more efficiently towards strategically valuable business segments.
This series of actions marks that TeraWulf is accelerating its transformation into an AI infrastructure service provider. By building the Kentucky project as a long-term computing power output engine and flexibly optimizing the equity structure of the Texas project, TeraWulf is ensuring financial stability while actively embracing the infrastructure dividends brought by the AI wave. With the establishment of this super data center in 2027, the global AI industry's computing power support landscape may face new changes.
