Artificial intelligence star Anthropic officially announced today that it plans to open a new large data center in Horseshoe, Kentucky. For this, the company has signed a 20-year building lease agreement with the power infrastructure giant TeraWulf.

Horseshoe is about an hour's drive from Louisville, offering a very convenient location. The successful completion of this project marks that the tech unicorn, known worldwide for its Claude artificial intelligence engine, is accelerating its layout of its underlying computing power map.

Unprecedented Scale of Supercomputing Center

According to TeraWulf, the company that owns the center, the power generation capacity of this computing infrastructure is expected to reach approximately 400 megawatts by 2027. Such a massive power supply scale will provide strong energy support for Anthropic's next training and operation of more advanced AI models.

From a business return perspective, this 20-year lease agreement will bring TeraWulf approximately $19 billion in contract lease revenue within the initial term. This not only validates the company's energy development strategy but also lays a solid foundation for its future expansion.
