On February 6th, the Spring Festival "red envelope war" among internet giants officially entered a feverish stage. Today, Alibaba's AI assistant "Qwen" launched the "3 billion yuan free shopping" campaign. With its high level of benefits, the campaign exceeded 5 million orders within 5 hours of its launch, and the Qwen App also successfully topped the Apple App Store's free chart.
However, behind the popularity, another "blocking" controversy has emerged. According to feedback from multiple users, the latest red envelope sharing code from Alibaba's Qwen can no longer be copied within WeChat. Specifically, when the code contains the words "more information," long-pressing will no longer display the "copy" option, making it difficult for users to participate in the campaign through WeChat's social chain.
It is worth noting that this restriction is not limited to competitors. Testing found that the red envelope code from Tencent's own AI app "Yuanbao App" also encountered the same issue in WeChat. As of now, WeChat has not made an official response to this restriction.
As the Spring Festival approaches, the battle for traffic among major tech companies is shifting from the scale of benefits to competition over fundamental entry points. Whether users can smoothly enjoy the red envelope benefits from various platforms during the holiday period still depends on how open these internet platforms are.
