Microsoft recently announced the launch of a series of AI assistants on the Teams platform, which will support each channel, meeting, and Viva Engage community. These AI assistants are available only to Microsoft 365 Copilot users, aiming to optimize team collaboration and communication.

The newly introduced "Host Assistant" can participate in real-time in Teams meetings, responsible for creating agendas, taking meeting minutes, and answering participants' questions. These assistants can also suggest time allocations for different topics based on meeting content and remind participants to be aware of meeting time to avoid exceeding it. In addition, Microsoft has launched a mobile assistant, which ensures that the assistant does not miss any important information during quick hallway conversations or impromptu face-to-face communications with just a tap on the screen.
Aside from the meeting assistant, Microsoft has also introduced the "Channel Assistant," which can answer users' questions in real-time based on previous conversations and meeting records within the channel and generate project status reports. At the same time, on Viva Engage, a platform similar to an internal company social network, Microsoft has also introduced the "Community Assistant," which mainly helps community administrators by answering other users' questions. There is also a "Knowledge Assistant," which runs in the background of SharePoint, responsible for organizing, tagging, and summarizing documents to improve the efficiency of knowledge management.
Currently, the "Host Assistant" is already available, although its document and task creation features are still in beta testing, and the other newly launched assistants are also in preview mode. In addition, Microsoft has redesigned workflow tools, allowing users to create AI automated tasks and generate audio summaries based on meeting minutes, further improving team efficiency.
Microsoft's recent upgrades are undoubtedly aimed at leveraging AI technology to simplify work processes and enhance the convenience of team collaboration.
