IBM Enhances COBOL Application Modernization with Generative AI


Global spending on generative AI is expected to reach $70 billion by 2030, driven mainly by AI hardware upgrades and the popularity of application software. Personal devices such as smartphones are currently the main areas of market spending.
Recently, generative AI tools such as Google Gemini and OpenAI's ChatGPT were exposed to malicious use, where users bypassed security reviews using specific prompts to alter normal photos of women into explicit "deepfake" images. Related tutorials spread on platforms like Reddit, raising concerns about the boundaries of AI safety.
The Shanghai Cyber Information Office promotes the innovation and regulation of generative AI, and carries out service filing in an orderly manner in accordance with relevant management measures. For services that provide services with public opinion attributes or social mobilization capabilities by calling registered models through APIs and other means, relevant departments also conduct registration. Currently, Shanghai has added 9 new generative AI services that have completed registration.
The Shanghai Cyberspace Administration announced the addition of 12 new generative AI service filings. The total number of filings in the city has now reached a certain scale, aiming to promote AI innovation and standardized development, and support Shanghai's efforts to become a high ground for AI.
