The tool offers plugins integrated with legal software and data platforms, along with a series of AI agents that can handle specialized legal and administrative tasks with minimal human supervision, allowing lawyers to focus on higher-value services while emphasizing data security and confidentiality.

The Battle for Industry Customization is Fully Underway

In addition to the legal sector, Google also launched tools for the financial services industry on the same day and plans to cover more vertical industries in the future. This coincides with competitors' intensive efforts: enterprise AI companies like Anthropic are also expanding into legal scenarios, while Thomson Reuters, which owns Reuters and Westlaw, announced its self-developed model Thomson 1.0 on Monday. Google stated that the platform will securely connect directly with products such as Thomson Reuters, Harvey, and Legora.

Law firms are rapidly adopting generative AI for retrieval, drafting, and case management to reduce costs and improve efficiency, with many large firms already deeply involved in collaborative development. A Google Cloud executive stated that the product allows law firms to flexibly choose among various models. Partners from firms like Weil and Cleary said that clients are increasingly expecting lawyers to use AI to improve efficiency— the "platform + ecosystem" competition in legal AI has shifted from models to workflow entry points.
