Recent developments in the field of artificial intelligence have emerged. According to the "2026 August Risk Report" released by Anthropic on August 15, the company has for the first time publicly disclosed a new AI model that has not yet been officially released - Model 2.
From the details revealed in the report, Model 2 shows superior overall performance compared to the currently strongest publicly available model, Claude Mythos 5, on multiple benchmark tasks. However, industry analysts point out that the performance improvement brought by Model 2 compared to its predecessor is relatively moderate. Its core significance lies in further consolidating and enhancing the overall capabilities of AI models, rather than making a disruptive leap.
Additionally, according to the internal "CoBench v2" benchmark test results, the report also included related terminology about Model 1. The outside world infers that Model 2 is likely a successor to Model 1, and the two are probably further deep iterations and upgrades under the Claude Mythos Preview technology roadmap.
