According to Gelonghui, on July 22nd, Horizon and the Volkswagen Group officially announced that through their joint venture Coretech (CARIZON), they will further deepen their technical collaboration in the field of AI foundation large models via CARIAD and Horizon. The weight of this cooperation lies in the licensing method: Coretech will rely on Horizon's advanced AI foundation large model capabilities and independently develop and accelerate the construction of a unified AI driving solution for the Volkswagen Group in China based on a white-box licensing model. Delivering the model capabilities in a white-box manner means that Volkswagen is not just purchasing a black-box result, but obtaining a technical foundation that can be self-digested and self-iterated.

Having only the model is not enough; real implementation relies on an entire collaborative system. Horizon's AI foundation large model will closely integrate with Coretech's developing system-on-chip C7H and GAIA world model data platform, forming synergy at the bottom level to comprehensively empower the implementation of L3 and L4-level autonomous driving capabilities for the Volkswagen Group. This combination not only lays the technological foundation for future passenger cars and autonomous taxi (Robotaxi) applications, but also drives continuous iteration and upgrading of the already mass-produced full-scenario advanced driver assistance solutions, allowing today's driver assistance and tomorrow's true autonomous driving to share the same growth path.

The more critical step is that this AI-powered intelligent driving technology system will be deeply integrated with the Volkswagen Group's first regionally developed electronic architecture, known as the CEA architecture. The significance of this integration lies in combining algorithms, chips, and vehicle electronic architecture into one, rather than each managing their own part.
