TikTok E-commerce has recently completed a significant strategic adjustment. In the newly revised "Merchant Technical Service Fee Management Standards" and "Technical Service Fee Rate Standards," it officially incorporated the large model application "Doubao" into the technical service fee rules, which will take effect on July 15, 2026.

Doubao

This adjustment clearly states that the order technical service fee rate will be determined comprehensively based on the "product category and transaction channel." This means Doubao is no longer just an AI shopping entry point on the front end. Orders from specific channels such as Doubao will be officially identified and attributed on the merchant settlement side, and the supplementary technical service fee rate standards for specific channels will be made public after the implementation.

This move marks the initial measurable commercial calculation of AI-driven orders, and generative AI search optimization (GEO) will move from the early "exposure logic" to the "transaction attribution and cost accounting" stage.

At the same time as the channel rate adjustment, the platform also increased the basic technical service fee rates for four detailed categories: thermal protection products, electronic scales, electric vehicle raincoats, and car hanging decorations, with adjustments ranging from 2% to 5%. Industry analysts believe that these categories have a strong "Q&A recommendation" attribute and are highly compatible with AI scenarios. Previously, Doubao had already integrated the shopping journey, supporting product card承接 and linking to TikTok Mall for purchases.

This platform simultaneously adjusted the base rate of the category and the channel supplementary rate, building a "category + channel" comprehensive cost model. This not only provides data support for merchants to review AI conversion, but also offers an observable industry sample for the commercialization of large models.
