MiHoYo's AI companion interactive software "BSide: Olivia Lin" has launched a pre-release experience on the Steam platform. The application requires linking a MiHoYo account and supports association with a Steam account. Its positioning is not a game, but a tool application that integrates AI interaction, music generation, and desktop dynamic wallpapers.

An AI Companion Who Can Play Piano

The main character of the application, "Lin Li," is a girl from Shanghai who majors in piano and minors in psychology. She loves vinyl records, old movies, and rainy days, and is currently conducting personal research on "music and memories." Users can immerse themselves in her piano performances, where each piece expresses her understanding and interpretation of music and memories. Users can also upload MIDI files to her, and the system will automatically generate corresponding music videos to preserve creative inspiration.

Aside from the music features, users can also interact with AI to write letters, express emotions through text, exchange exclusive stories with Lin Li, and receive personalized responses. The application includes AI-driven music creation, MIDI and audio generation, and text generation experiences. Users can generate music-related content, audio results, creative suggestions, and letter texts by actively inputting or selecting materials.

The Character Was Foreshadowed, Pre-Release Experience Collects Feedback

The character of Lin Li did not appear out of nowhere. Since August 28, 2025, the Bilibili account "Lin Li Olivia" had already uploaded its first piano performance video, and in March of this year, it released video content about reading and responding to letters, providing ample pre-launch promotion for this official release. Developers stated that the application is still being refined and iterated, and this pre-release experience aims to collect user feedback to help the team more accurately optimize the product experience.
