Google has announced two major feature updates for its 24/7 private AI assistant, Gemini Spark, officially integrating into the third-party app ecosystem and introducing real-time topic update capabilities.

As a core product open to Google AI Ultra subscribers, this upgrade of Gemini Spark not only deepens collaboration with first-party workspace apps like Google Keep and Tasks, enabling seamless conversion of scattered ideas into to-do items across applications, but also extends its capabilities to diverse scenarios such as graphic design, file sharing, dining reservations, and lifestyle services through integration with mainstream third-party services like Canva, Dropbox, Instacart, OpenTable, and Zillow Rentals.

Notably, Google is gradually rolling out support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP), allowing users to activate this feature by clicking on custom app links at the bottom of specific pages. This technological move marks the acceleration of the large model ecosystem toward an open and standardized interface era.

Additionally, the newly added "Smart Tracking" feature enables Gemini Spark to respond in real-time to dynamic events such as sports events, financial stocks, and news and social media. These updates will debut next week on web and mobile platforms, with the Mac-exclusive application set to launch in the coming weeks. This move significantly enhances the local task and automation capabilities of the Gemini edge device ecosystem and signals that AI assistants are rapidly evolving from passive Q&A tools into system-level intelligent agents actively involved in users' full workflow scenarios.
