On June 24, ByteDance's AI assistant Doubao officially launched three paid subscription services, marking the official start of commercial monetization for top domestic large model applications. The paid versions are priced at 68 yuan/month for the standard version, 200 yuan/month for the enhanced version, and 500 yuan/month for the premium version. They have all integrated the newly upgraded Doubao 2.1 series large model, which significantly improves model performance while ensuring that free users' daily usage remains unaffected.

In terms of pricing strategy, the professional version of Doubao shows a clear local price advantage compared to global mainstream AI services. Compared to overseas markets, the monthly fees for ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro, and Gemini Advanced are generally around 20 US dollars (about 135 RMB). In contrast, Doubao's standard version costs only 68 RMB, nearly half the price; for the top-tier version, ChatGPT Pro's annual fee is approximately 16,295 RMB, while Doubao's premium version is 5,088 RMB, less than one-third of the former.
This highly competitive pricing not only lowers the threshold for accessing advanced AI capabilities but also breaks the global AI subscription pricing system set by overseas giants. With the launch of Doubao's paid plans, the domestic large model industry is accelerating into a new cycle of "high-value service monetization" from the early stage of "free parameter competition." This move may trigger a new round of commercial pricing competition in the application layer of domestic large models.
