WeChat Pay is collaborating with Tencent's AI product WorkBuddy to test AI payment features and plans to launch an "AI Exclusive Card" in the WeChat Wallet, providing exclusive payment capabilities for AI agents. This feature is expected to be launched as early as this week, but WeChat Pay has not yet made an official response.
According to the disclosed information, the "AI Exclusive Card" uses an independent fund management mechanism, with the consumption limit determined by the user's top-up amount. The payment authorization scope can be adjusted and managed at any time, and the funds are used exclusively for their intended purpose. At the same time, when the intelligent agent initiates a payment, users still need to complete a password verification to ensure transaction security and control of funds.

This test indicates that Tencent is further advancing the integration of AI and payment scenarios. Previously, Tencent had launched its enterprise AI product WorkBuddy, and the integration of payment capabilities is expected to help agents move from information processing and task collaboration to actual transaction execution, forming a more complete service loop.
The "Payment + AI" sector has been heating up recently. On June 16, Alipay officially launched its AI version product "Abao." At the same time, companies such as UnionPay Business and JD.com are also actively building related capabilities. As leading platforms join in, AI payments are gradually moving from conceptual exploration to product implementation.
However, industry professionals point out that the current "Payment + AI" is still in its initial stage. At this stage, the process of product recommendation, order placement, and payment is mainly completed through natural language interaction, with users still taking the lead in key decision-making and authorization. In the future, as the autonomous planning and execution capabilities of AI agents improve, AI may independently complete the entire process of search, price comparison, purchase, and payment within the scope of user authorization, thus driving AI agents to evolve from "auxiliary tools" to "digital agents."
From an industry development perspective, payment capabilities are becoming an important infrastructure for the AI agent ecosystem. As platforms like Tencent and Alipay continue to invest, competition around AI agents' autonomous transactions and task execution may become a key direction for the commercialization of AI applications.
