The core of this adjustment focuses on aggregating advantageous resources and improving the operational efficiency of the organization in the AI era: Baidu merged the original Business Department and E-commerce Business Unit to officially establish the Large Business Department; at the same time, its Digital Human Innovation Business Unit has been officially upgraded into an independent department.
As an important layout in Baidu's AI application layer, the digital human brand "Huibo Star" was fully upgraded to "Baidu Yijing" at the Create2026 Baidu AI Developer Conference held on May 13, and launched the world's first all-scenario multi-agent digital human platform integrating digital human live streaming, digital human video, and real-time interactive digital humans, while also releasing an overseas version.
Official data shows that by the end of 2025, the number of digital human anchors on Baidu Yijing had exceeded 100,000, serving more than 30 industries. In practical commercial scenarios, the platform supported Lu Yonghao's debut of his digital human live stream, achieving over 13 million viewers and a GMV exceeding 55 million yuan.
Industry analysts believe that with the maturity of large models and multi-agent technologies, digital humans have evolved from one-way content output to full-scenario real-time interaction. By upgrading the digital human business to an independent department and integrating the commercial and e-commerce ecosystem, Baidu aims to accelerate the full-chain implementation of generative AI in redefining business decisions and e-commerce monetization processes.
