In the latest S-1 filing for its IPO submitted by SpaceX on Wednesday, the company officially listed the "alternative" artificial intelligence features introduced through its acquisition of xAI and its subsidiary Grok as significant risk factors.

The document acknowledges that features such as Grok's NSFW (Not Safe For Work) mode and the AI anime companion "Ani" are more disrespectful and strict than standard products, posing a "higher risk" of generating potentially explicit content, images without consent or exploitative nature, and infringing intellectual property, as well as potentially causing serious reputational damage to the company.

Currently, SpaceX is facing multiple investigations, inquiries, and lawsuits from the U.S. government over Grok's image generation and editing features, with the core issue being that the AI tool has been used to create explicit content featuring children in sexualized scenarios without consent. Although Elon Musk previously publicly denied these allegations, in response to global strong opposition in January, xAI has restricted image generation features to paid users only.
