Just on April 27, the Japanese AI startup LifePrompt released a shocking set of test results: ChatGPT, equipped with OpenAI's latest model, demonstrated a dominant level of performance in the entrance exams for undergraduate programs at two of Japan's top universities, the University of Tokyo and Kyoto University. The final scores across multiple subjects not only exceeded the admission threshold but also surpassed the scores of real human "top scorers".

The Stunning Transformation from "Failed Student" to "King of Science"
Looking back at 2024, at that time, the AI model struggled to cope with the rigorous entrance exams of the University of Tokyo and failed to deliver satisfactory results. However, just over a year later, technological breakthroughs completely reversed the outcome.
In what is considered a "hell-level" entrance exam for the University of Tokyo's Science Department III (Medical specialty), ChatGPT's performance was truly impressive. It not only scored full marks in mathematics, but its total score was 50 points higher than the highest score achieved by human students. This marked that AI has now reached a level of capability to surpass the minds of the brightest human beings in handling complex logical reasoning and high-level computational logic.
All Records at Top Universities Broken
This test covered both humanities and science challenges. According to the data, in the University of Tokyo entrance exam, which has a maximum score of 550, ChatGPT scored 452 in the humanities (humanities and social sciences) and easily surpassed the highest human score of 434; while in the science exam, it scored 503, far exceeding the previous human record of 453.
The University of Kyoto's examination hall also witnessed this moment. In the law school entrance exam, the AI set a new record of 771, surpassing the previous record of 734; and in the medical school selection, it achieved an outstanding score of 1176, breaking the previous human record of 1098 set by the top scorer.
