Music streaming platform Deezer recently revealed that the platform receives nearly 75,000 AI-generated song submissions daily, accounting for about 44% of the total daily uploads. Although the number of AI songs uploaded is increasing, Deezer emphasized that their playback volume only accounts for 1% to 3% of the total playback volume. This is because Deezer has taken measures to exclude AI-generated music from recommendation algorithms to prevent it from affecting user experience.

To address this phenomenon, Deezer is also continuously updating its policies. The platform not only labels AI-generated tracks but also cancels revenue sharing for these songs and stops storing high-resolution versions of them. Deezer's CEO Alexis Lajouanie stated in a blog post that as AI music becomes increasingly popular, the entire music ecosystem should work together to protect the rights of musicians and improve transparency for music fans.
In addition to Deezer, other music streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music have also introduced different measures. Spotify is cracking down on AI-generated music, while Apple Music requires artists and record companies to label AI-created songs. Meanwhile, Bandcamp has completely banned AI music, and Qobuz has started automatically detecting and labeling AI music.
Since Deezer launched the relevant detection tools in January 2025, the number of AI-generated tracks uploaded daily on the platform has increased from 10,000 to 75,000. Additionally, Deezer plans to license its AI song detection tool to other companies, stating that the tool can identify songs created through Udio and Suno and has the potential to enhance detection capabilities for other similar tools. Deezer is also developing a new technology that can identify music without the need for dataset training.
