According to reports, Alibaba's Tongyi Lab recently announced a major personnel adjustment. After the departure of the original head, Lin Junyang, the key position of the Qwen (Tongyi Qianwen) model will be officially managed by Zhou Jingren, Alibaba Cloud CTO and head of Tongyi Lab.
In this adjustment, Liu Dayiheng, who was responsible for pre-training, will also take on the role of head of the post-training and Coding teams, and report directly to Zhou Jingren along with other core members of the Qwen team. As an Alibaba partner and technology leader, Zhou Jingren holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Columbia University. He previously worked at Microsoft Research and joined Alibaba in 2015, serving as Chief Scientist at Alibaba Cloud and Deputy Director of the DAMO Academy.

This rapid restructuring reflects Alibaba's pursuit of stability in its core large model strategy. As a top-tier domestic large model, the Qwen series is currently in a critical phase of model iteration and open-source ecosystem development. The expansion of Liu Dayiheng's authority indicates that the research and development focus will further shift towards engineering applications and coding capabilities.
