Online gaming giant Roblox recently announced the launch of an innovative AI chat purification feature. In the past, when players sent inappropriate content, the system would simply bluntly replace it with "#" symbols. The new feature uses artificial intelligence to rewrite inappropriate expressions into polite and compliant language in real time, while striving to retain the original intent of the player's message.

Roblox officials stated that long stretches of blocked symbols not only disrupt the flow of conversation but often confuse players. With this new mechanism, the system is no longer just "muting," but "polishing." For example, the rude phrase "Hurry TF up!" which used to be completely blocked, is now automatically optimized into a more neutral version, "Hurry up!" When a message is rewritten by AI, the chat window will send a notice to all participants to ensure a transparent and friendly communication atmosphere.

In addition to improving communication coherence, Roblox has significantly upgraded its text filtering system. The new system performs exceptionally well in identifying "hacker speak" (leetspeak) and various alternative writing styles, with reported false positive rates reduced by about 20 times. Currently, this real-time rewriting feature supports all languages covered by the platform's automatic translation tools.

This technological update has deep roots. In February of this year, Roblox faced legal pressure from multiple state attorneys general due to child safety concerns. Under the dual push of regulation and public opinion, Roblox is trying to use this "soft and hard" AI strategy to maintain the community's safety bottom line while optimizing the social gaming experience for hundreds of millions of users.
