According to CCTV News, U.S. President Donald Trump posted on social media on September 19th local time that he would establish a "team of artificial intelligence."

Trump stated that in order to build this "artificial intelligence team," he would soon appoint an "administrator" for artificial intelligence affairs. He said that artificial intelligence represents the next industrial revolution or internet wave, which will be larger and more influential, possibly accounting for 25% of the U.S. GDP.

Condemning Democrats Who "Attempt to Destroy AI"

In the post, Trump also criticized radical Democrats who "attempt to destroy artificial intelligence," saying, "We will never hinder or stifle this remarkable industry in any way. Instead, we will cherish it, support it, and protect its growth." He stated that his government will not hinder or suppress the development of artificial intelligence in any way, but will support and promote the growth of this industry.

He also said that the United States will use the existing criminal and civil justice system to severely punish illegal activities related to artificial intelligence.

According to IT Home, in a previous report, Trump had called NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang at an industry summit and again strongly defended AI during a hands-free call. He referred to concerns about AI safety as a "scam" and told Huang: "Robots won't take over, AI won't rule other parts of the world. This whole thing is a scam."
