As the winter vacation and Spring Festival of 2026 approach, the most concerning gaming topic for parents and "little monsters" has finally been determined. On February 5th, Tencent Games officially released the notice on the restrictions for minors during the winter vacation. Not only did it unveil the strictest schedule, but it also introduced several "secret weapons" of AI-assisted education.

Firstly, there is the schedule that makes elementary school students "heartbroken."

According to the notice, during the entire month from February 5th to March 5th, minor players can only log in to the game on specific playable days (usually Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays) between 8 PM and 9 PM. Calculating it, the total gaming time limit during the entire winter vacation of 29 days is only 15 hours. This means that staying long in the virtual world for "playing together" has become an impossible task.

However, the focus of this upgrade is not about "blocking," but rather about "intelligence."

Tencent Games' Growth Guardianship Platform is simultaneously conducting a gray-scale test for three new AI features. These functions aim to free parents from tedious monitoring tasks and achieve precise guidance through technological means:

"AI Game Weekly Report": Don't try to deceive, the AI will accurately replay the child's gaming status throughout the week, giving parents a clear understanding of their child's entertainment journey.

"AI One-Tap Control": The operation is extremely simple, allowing parents to manage game permissions in seconds via their phones, truly achieving "flexible control."

"Parent AI Assistant": This is a 24-hour online expert consultant who can not only answer various questions about game addiction prevention, but also provide scientific advice for family education.

With AI, "Growth Guardianship" is no longer a solo performance for parents.

Previously, the anti-addiction system was more about hard rules, but the AI features introduced this time are like placing a "digital butler" with technical knowledge and patience next to the parents. This shift from merely "blocking time" to "intelligent management" is not only another step forward for Tencent in social responsibility, but also indicates that AI technology is becoming the key to resolving the conflict between digital entertainment and youth development.

This winter vacation, when AI begins to "proctor" games, do the children already have a plan on how to deal with this strict digital interviewer?
