On February 5, Tencent Games released the 2026 winter vacation and Spring Festival holiday notice regarding the restrictions on minors' gaming activities. According to relevant regulations, minors can play games for a total of 15 hours within the 29-day winter vacation. In response to potential issues such as increased online time for minors during the winter vacation and the frequent occurrence of family shared accounts, Tencent Games announced the launch of the "2026 Winter Vacation Minors Protection Special Action."

This initiative is centered around "Technology Empowering Family Guardianship." It upgrades AI technology for parent services, strengthens health system monitoring, and promotes public welfare construction, building a comprehensive network protection ecosystem for minors. This helps families manage holidays more scientifically and supports children's healthy growth.

Launch of Three New AI Features to Help Parents Manage More Scientifically

With the advancement of the anti-addiction policy, time limits and consumption restrictions for minors in games have become industry standards. Game companies have also introduced various management tools and services to assist families in managing their children. However, during the holidays, many parents still worry about potential addiction issues, and some are unsure how to use these tools effectively.

Based on these real needs, this winter vacation, Tencent Growth Protection has introduced AI technology for the first time, creating a product matrix combining "AI functions + live streaming," helping parents shift from "passive control" to "scientific management." Among them, three new AI features—"AI Game Weekly Report," "AI One-Click Control," and "Parent AI Assistant"—address core concerns of parents in holiday management from three aspects: understanding, controlling, and asking.

Currently, it is difficult for parents to determine whether game behavior is normal or to understand the content of the games, which is one of the common challenges they face. The "AI Game Weekly Report" regularly sends parents data analysis reports on game duration, playing times, spending amounts, and changes, providing a detailed overview of the family's gaming situation. The report will mark instances of being online at 10 PM at night or during school hours, helping parents identify unhealthy gaming behaviors. It also interprets the characteristics and content of the games that children are playing, offering information for parent-child communication and assisting parents in better understanding their children's gaming experiences.

Based on the data presentation and intelligent interpretation of the "AI Game Weekly Report," parents can better compare and assess whether the gaming behavior is healthy, moving from "managing by feeling" to "managing with evidence."
