According to reports from multiple media outlets including the Wall Street Journal, global e-commerce and cloud services giant Amazon is engaging in deep discussions with tech startup OpenAI regarding a strategic investment worth approximately $50 billion.
Valuation Surge: OpenAI Launches a $100 Billion Financing Plan
Currently, OpenAI's market valuation has reached $500 billion. The company recently announced plans to raise a total of $100 billion in new financing. If this plan is successfully implemented, its post-investment valuation is expected to reach an astonishing $830 billion, making it one of the most highly valued startups in the world.
It is reported that the negotiations are being directly led by Amazon's CEO Andy Jassy and OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman. At present, neither Amazon nor OpenAI has made any official comments on this matter, and the details remain confidential.

Global Capital Resonance: Major Players and Sovereign Wealth Funds Join In
In addition to Amazon, OpenAI is actively expanding its sources of funding. According to the New York Times, the company has been in frequent contact with various parties:
Middle Eastern Capital: Continuously discussing equity investments with several sovereign wealth funds;
Technology Giants: Holding new rounds of talks with NVIDIA, Microsoft, and SoftBank.
Industry analysts expect this large-scale financing deal to be completed as early as the end of the first quarter of this year.
Strategic Game: Amazon's "Dual Track" Strategy
Amazon's intention to invest heavily in OpenAI has sparked discussions about its existing strategic layout. Previously, Amazon had a deep partnership with OpenAI's main competitor Anthropic:
Capital Level: Amazon has invested at least $8 billion in Anthropic;
Infrastructure: Amazon AWS is not only Anthropic's preferred cloud service provider, but the two have also deeply integrated model training agreements;
Hardware Support: Amazon recently invested $11 billion in building a data center in Indiana, specifically designed to run Anthropic's technology architecture.
