Oracle initiated a large-scale layoff, mainly affecting employees in the U.S. and India, to address cash flow pressure. The company, in an effort to keep up with the AI trend, took on debt to expand its data centers but now faces the dual challenges of high interest costs and intense market competition.
To increase investment in AI infrastructure, Oracle is launching a large-scale layoff to cut costs. According to foreign media reports, the company plans to release funds by laying off thousands of employees. Analysts predict that if 20,000 to 30,000 positions are cut, it could free up as much as $10 billion in cash flow to ease the financial pressure from its aggressive investment in the AI field.
