According to foreign media reports on September 30, she is expected to visit South Korea next month to hold face-to-face meetings with Samsung Electronics executives, focusing on AI chip and technology collaboration. The most anticipated part of this cooperation is that Samsung may become a supplier for AMD's HBM4.

This collaboration is not a sudden decision. AMD has been in contact with Samsung for some time. In March of this year, both parties signed a memorandum of understanding regarding AI storage chips and computing technology cooperation. At that time, there were rumors that Samsung had been selected as AMD's preferred supplier for the HBM4 chip used in AI accelerators. If this visit turns verbal preference into a formal order, Samsung will truly join the supply chain of AMD's next-generation high-bandwidth memory.

South Korea is a natural stage for this negotiation due to its concentration of the world's most advanced semiconductor production capacity. The world's two largest memory chip suppliers, SK Hynix and Samsung, are based here. As the most critical memory level for AI accelerators, the supply chain of HBM4 directly affects the production capacity and schedule of AMD's future flagship chips.
