On December 3, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, shared a short video on the social platform X, released by the Tesla Optimus (Project Groot) team. The video shows a humanoid robot running in a lab. The team captioned the video, saying that they just set a personal record (PR). This action once again drew public attention to Tesla's latest progress in its humanoid robot project.

Musk shared the running video and emphasized that the lab record had been broken. The report also reviewed Tesla's previous cost and production plans for the project: Tesla expects the cost of each humanoid robot after mass production to be controlled within about $20,000, and it had announced in early November that the trial production line had started operating at the Fremont factory, with a larger-scale third-generation production line planned to be completed and put into operation in 2026.

Previously, Musk sparked heated discussions again at the end of November by sharing a video showing Optimus performing tasks in various scenarios, accompanied by a future vision: robots will increase global wealth and turn work from a necessity into an optional choice. The video clip shows the robot walking on the street, assisting at construction sites, participating in disaster drills, practicing judo, and even appearing in entertainment venues.

Subsequently, his remarks in public also showed great ambition, stating that future robots might reshape the social structure and even change the status of money.
