According to a recent report released by the UK National Foundation for Educational Research, it is predicted that by 2035, artificial intelligence (AI) and automation technologies may cause the disappearance of 3 million "low-skill" jobs in the UK. The study points out that the most affected professions include technical workers, machine operators, and various administrative positions. At the same time, the development of AI will also lead to an increased demand for high-skilled professionals.

The report states that although the impact of AI will reduce low-skill jobs, overall, the UK economy is expected to see a net increase of 2.3 million jobs by 2035. However, the distribution of new jobs will be highly uneven. Some studies suggest that AI's impact on high-skill jobs may be more significant than on low-skill jobs, which contrasts sharply with the current common perception. Research from King's College London indicates that many high-paying industries have experienced layoffs, especially after the release of ChatGPT.

Notably, the UK government also believes that professions such as management consultants, psychologists, and legal professionals are more likely to be affected by AI, while jobs like athletes, roofers, and bricklayers are considered less likely to be replaced. In fact, many companies have already begun to feel the impact of AI on their human resource structures. For example, the renowned London law firm Clifford Chance has announced the reduction of approximately 10% of its business support positions, partly due to the rise of AI technology. A representative from PwC also stated that the emergence of AI has changed the way companies look for talent, leading to the withdrawal of large-scale hiring plans.
