At the recent Ignite2025 event, Microsoft announced a series of major updates to Microsoft 365 Copilot, aiming to push the office environment into a new era of intelligence. The core of these updates is to help various organizations transform into "frontier enterprises," achieving efficient operations with the aid of artificial intelligence. The highlights of this update include fully applying the "Agent Mode" to the three core Office software: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. In Excel, the new "Excel Agent" feature can automatically identify table data, helping users quickly convert data into various charts and visual elements. Additionally, it can perform in-depth analysis of company financial data, helping users draw key conclusions and future business forecasts.

In Word, the newly introduced "Word Agent" will act as an assistant for intelligent reading and writing. It can quickly summarize complex documents, extract key points, and explain technical terms, making it easier for users to understand the content. Moreover, it has a content rewriting function that can adjust the text style according to needs, improving creative efficiency.

For PowerPoint, the new "PowerPoint Agent" helps users easily create presentations. Just provide a topic and key points, and the AI can automatically generate complete slides and incorporate "storytelling" elements, making the content more logical and persuasive. This feature is particularly suitable for creating professional presentations such as management reports, strategic planning, and market analysis.

Additionally, the chat function of Copilot has been upgraded. Users can now complete various complex tasks through conversation and then seamlessly switch to the application for in-depth editing. To enhance the user experience, Copilot now supports voice commands, allowing users to quickly obtain personalized meeting, email, and document summaries.

Microsoft also announced the launch of a new commercial version of Microsoft 365 Copilot, priced at $21 per user per month, designed for small and medium-sized businesses, aiming to help small teams improve work efficiency. All these updates are supported by Microsoft's enhanced intelligent layer, Work IQ, which integrates various data from users' work to provide smarter and more personalized services.
