AI, artificial intelligence

As the developer of the chatbot Le Chat, Mistral plays a significant role in the European AI field, with its core business focused on open-source large language models (LLMs). According to PitchBook, this startup has raised a total of 1.19 billion dollars so far, with a post-money valuation of 6.51 billion dollars. The most recent B-round financing took place in June 2024.

Notably, Mistral has formed strategic partnerships with the MGX, a trillion-dollar AI fund supported by the UAE government, and NVIDIA, working together to build Europe's largest AI data center park. This move aligns with French President Emmanuel Macron's AI sovereignty initiative, with the UAE committing to invest 50 billion euros in AI projects in France.
