Recently, Ryan Roslansky, CEO of LinkedIn, stated that the number of job postings mentioning AI on the platform has increased sixfold over the past year. Meanwhile, the number of users adding AI skills to their profiles has seen even more significant growth, increasing by a full twenty times. This change indicates that an increasing number of professionals are reshaping their career images by incorporating AI-related skills, even if their actual experience may not be extensive.

LinkedIn, LinkedIn

Roslansky noted in an interview with Bloomberg that generative AI has played an important role across the entire LinkedIn platform. The platform no longer relies solely on static recommendation models but instead uses a prompt-based personalized content display approach. "The news feed basically functions as a large prompt," he explained. "This is Shirin's profile. What did she do in the past? What content should we recommend to her?" This shift makes the job search process more humanized, moving from traditional keyword filtering to natural language processing. He said, "AI allows us to express more intuitively what you want to do or what you want to achieve."

However, Roslansky also mentioned that despite LinkedIn's continuous innovation, users are particularly cautious when using AI-generated content. Because LinkedIn is seen as one's "online resume," it carries the responsibility of maintaining a professional image, and users are unlikely to share content that appears "clearly AI-generated" here. "Once it is pointed out by the community, it might affect your ability to create economic opportunities," he emphasized. To ensure the authenticity of content, users often revise the suggestions generated by AI. Additionally, he admitted that LinkedIn's own AI writing tool did not meet the expected level of popularity: "To be honest, it wasn't as popular as I had imagined."

Driven by this AI wave, LinkedIn's professional ecosystem is undergoing profound changes, showing an increasing demand for AI skills, while users' cautious attitude towards content creation highlights the importance of professionalism on the platform.
