Xiaomi founder, Chairman and CEO Lei Jun recently posted a video on Weibo showing the latest test progress of Xiaomi's robot in home scenarios. The robot is being trialed in Xiaomi Youth Apartment and can complete household chores such as sweeping up trash and sorting and returning items to their places. Scenes in the video, such as sweeping up sunflower seed shells and tidying up a left-behind phone charger, drew attention from netizens.
This robot relies on the Xiaomi-Robotics-1 embodied foundation model and has built a complete autonomous execution system. In actual tests, it was able to run continuously for more than 30 minutes, cover 3 rooms, and complete 50+ tasks in long-horizon task validation.

The video demonstrates multiple everyday operations: clearing desktop trash and throwing beverage bottles and takeout packaging bags into the trash can; organizing scattered earphones, data cables, and plush toys; and putting books and scissors back in their original places to complete item sorting and return. After the tasks are finished, the robot also performs a room inspection and a whole-home re-inspection, ending work only after confirming that all tasks are complete.
This test advances embodied intelligence from demonstrating single capabilities to a closed loop of multi-room, long-sequence household tasks. The duration and scale of long-horizon task validation are key indicators for measuring practicality in home scenarios. Using the Youth Apartment as a trial operation scenario also provides a data and validation foundation for the continuous iteration of embodied robots in real living environments.
