On November 3, it was reported that the AI company Anthropic revealed its latest progress in the hardware field at a recent investor meeting: the company has officially formed a 15-person chip design team and has begun using its own Claude model to comprehensively carry out the engineering and design work for custom chips.

In actual internal testing and applications, Anthropic's engineering team found that, compared with the conventional workflows and time estimates of traditional large chip design companies such as Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), assisted design with the Claude model can significantly shorten the overall chip design cycle. This exploration not only demonstrates the potential of large models to assist in low-level hardware R&D, but also provides a new practical example for the entire AI industry to improve chip R&D efficiency through AI.
