On October 29, Marvis, Tencent's AI assistant, officially launched "Coding Manager," adding the ability to invoke other desktop AI tools for programming and tasks on top of its phone-based remote computer control capabilities. It initially supports two AI tools: CodeBuddy IDE (programming mode) and Kimi Code Desktop. After leaving their computer, users can view projects and chat history, track task progress, continue sending messages to AI tools on the computer, or start new projects and tasks on their phone.
Marvis positions itself as "your 24-hour AI assistant," providing continuous services around users' computers, files, and frequently used applications. The four managers previously launched correspond to different daily tasks: PC Manager helps diagnose device issues and manage system settings; File Manager supports searching, organizing, and processing materials; Software Manager connects to applications for finding and managing needs; Browser Manager assists with obtaining information and performing operations on web pages. Users can directly express the tasks they want to do, and the corresponding manager will provide help in specific scenarios.
"Coding Manager" is an extension of this positioning into AI programming scenarios. Nowadays, many AI tool tasks can already run over long periods on the computer, but people are not always by their computers. Whether wanting to check project results after work, receiving temporary modification requests during holidays, or needing to confirm the next step halfway through a task, what users need is to promptly connect to the original project and conversation so that work can continue.

On the Marvis mobile app, users can tap "Remote Computer Control" in the upper right corner to enter the "Coding Manager" list. If CodeBuddy IDE or Kimi Code Desktop is already running on the computer, after the user authorizes and connects, the mobile app will synchronously display the project list and chat window. Users can also select different models and add files and photos from their phone, making it convenient to handle AI tasks remotely. It is understood that more AI programming tools will be supported later.
Users can use the input box at the bottom of the interface to add requirements in natural language, continue the current project, or start a new programming project. Conversations and changes made in Marvis will be synchronized to the computer, so users can continue working when they return to their computer.
Previously, users could perform similar operations by remotely controlling the computer desktop through Marvis, but finding application windows and operating the desktop interface for programming on a small phone screen was inconvenient. "Coding Manager" provides a more direct and native entry point and experience for such tasks.
For situations where tasks still need to run while users are away from the computer for a long time, the anti-sleep function can be enabled on the Marvis desktop client. Once enabled, the computer will not enter sleep mode, ensuring that automated tasks, phone connections, and other functions can work normally.
Marvis previously already supported remote control of the computer desktop via phone. The newly launched Coding Manager allows users to directly enter the project conversation flow when handling AI programming tasks, view progress, and respond to items that need confirmation. It continues Marvis's service model of "initiate on phone, execute on computer, view and confirm on phone": whether or not users are sitting in front of the computer, the AI assistant can help them stay connected to tasks on the computer.
