Tencent has recently launched the "Penguin Micro" creation matching platform within the WeChat ecosystem, connecting AI creation demanders with artisans. The platform's slogan is "State your needs, and we'll match you with the right creative partner." It is currently in an early open phase during the National Day holiday period, with public access already available, though the date for full release has not been announced yet.

Penguin Micro is essentially a transactional matching platform for AI creation services, primarily connecting two types of users: those with creation needs, including e-commerce merchants requiring product images and promotional videos, as well as individuals and teams needing short video content; and artisans who provide creation services, i.e., creators who have AI image generation and video editing skills.

Artisans can submit applications through the path "My—Settings—Online Feedback," contacting customer service to fill in personal information and wait for approval. Once approved, they can participate in the demand matching on the platform.

Users with creation needs can select the type of creation on the homepage "Find Service" and post their needs, which will be matched with suitable artisans by the platform. Once matched, the platform has a three-party communication mechanism involving the user, the creator, and the platform itself. Within the group, they confirm the production requirements, pricing, and delivery content. After the requirements are confirmed, they proceed to place an order and make payment. The complete process includes posting demands, matching creators, communicating about pricing, placing orders and making payments, delivering the work, and finalizing the settlement—all within the WeChat ecosystem. The platform also provides an AI assistant to help clarify creation needs, reducing repeated communication caused by unclear demand expression.

This model addresses the issue of AI creation tools being "usable but hard to monetize," bringing individual creators into a standardized transaction process. Whether the platform can form a stable supply and repeat business still depends on the maturity of pricing mechanisms, delivery standards, and settlement rules.
