Synopsys, the leading chip design software company, recently stated that despite the U.S. government's tightened export controls on artificial intelligence and semiconductors, the company plans to collaborate with major Chinese large language model developers, using the AI version of its tools to help local Chinese companies accelerate chip development.
Expansion of Cooperation Models and Localization
Previously, Synopsys had announced a multi-year cooperation agreement with OpenAI, aiming to jointly develop specialized AI models to automate chip design processes and significantly shorten development cycles. A senior executive from Synopsys revealed that the company is exploring similar partnerships with Chinese AI laboratories to tailor design tools specifically for the Chinese market.
Technology Integration to Meet Market Demands
As demand for AI model training and inference deployment surges, the pace of chip iteration and R&D has significantly accelerated. By deeply integrating AI technology into its own EDA tools, Synopsys not only effectively addresses the potential impacts of new technologies but also provides the industry with more efficient chip design solutions.
