Elon Musk announced a major adjustment on the X platform, stating that the company's Grok Bot will no longer rely solely on its own developed Grok series models. In the future, the system will use obtaining the best output result as the only standard, automatically selecting and calling the most suitable backend model for users.

This means that Grok Bot will transition to a "task-oriented multi-model hybrid architecture," no longer limited to in-house or proprietary technology. When handling complex tasks such as text, images, or audio, it can flexibly call leading third-party APIs in the industry, including Claude Opus 5.5, Midjourney, and Suno.

Always-on Cloud Assistant, Building a Versatile AI Colleague

As a beta product launched by SpaceXAI in August 2026, Grok Bot is positioned as the user's "always-on AI colleague." It not only answers daily questions but also automatically logs into relevant applications on cloud-based computers and independently completes multi-step operations, only prompting for human approval when critical decisions are needed. Each Grok Bot has a unique name, clear responsibilities, and a continuously accumulated context memory, and users can issue commands at any time through text or voice. Since it is deployed on cloud servers equipped with browsers, file systems, and terminals, even if users turn off their computers or phones, background tasks and scheduled work will continue to run steadily.
