Meta announced on October 7, 2026, the launch of the iPad-specific app for its AI assistant Muse, achieving rapid expansion of the product on mobile and large-screen devices. Compared to Instagram, which took nearly 15 years to adapt to the iPad platform, Muse completed its extension to the iPad in just one month since its initial release on iOS and Android on September 8, 2026.
Data from market research firm Sensor Tower shows that Muse has exceeded 6.6 million installations across both platforms. As Muse primarily relies on text interaction and has low requirements for image and video resolution, this provides natural technical convenience for cross-platform portability.
As a consumer-facing AI agent product, Muse allows users to bind their personal accounts, handling tasks such as checking emails, scheduling meetings, managing bills, ordering groceries, and online shopping. To expand its agent capabilities, Meta continues to integrate ecosystem partners in the form of "Connectors."
At the time of this iPad version release, the list of Muse Connectors has seen a major update, adding productivity and management tools for small businesses, including Asana, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, QuickBooks, GitHub, Klaviyo, Zoom, and Meta advertising accounts; in daily applications, Notion and Granola have also been newly introduced.
Previously, Meta had expanded with retail partners such as Best Buy, Gap, Sephora, Walmart, and Wayfair, enabling the AI agent to place orders directly on these e-commerce platforms on behalf of users.
To address the technical pain point of autonomous shopping agents being mistakenly identified as malicious bots by target websites and getting banned, Meta, on October 6, collaborated with industry partners to launch the development of an open technical standard, aiming to establish a unified identity authentication mechanism, helping companies effectively distinguish between benign AI agents and illegal automated programs.
The release of this iPad version not only marks Meta's further acceleration in AI terminal coverage but also highlights its strategic intent to seize the core position in the consumer and lightweight business AI agent ecosystem by connecting enterprise and retail connectors and building Agent open standards.
