This appointment marks the official filling of the long-vacant CFO position since DeepSeek's establishment three years ago, and also indicates further improvement in its corporate governance and financial management system.

According to the information, Yan Wentao was born in 1991 and graduated from Fudan University. He worked at Tencent Investment and H Capital from 2013 to 2020, and joined H Capital in 2020. It was reported that in the past two months, several young partners from leading venture capital firms have also participated in the competition for the CFO position at DeepSeek.

This personnel change occurred as DeepSeek's second round of financing was nearing completion. According to reports, DeepSeek has already started reviewing the list of limited partners (LPs) in the past two weeks, and some LPs with backgrounds in state-owned capital, non-listed companies, and individuals did not pass this round of review. Yan Wentao's joining and the financing process are temporally close, thus drawing attention to DeepSeek's subsequent capital operations and organizational governance arrangements.
