Anthropic announced the full integration of Claude Cowork and Chat into a unified Claude, incorporating all capabilities including Cowork, Design, Docs, and Slides. Users no longer need to worry about task entry points, and historical conversations, Skills, and connectors are also preserved.
The new version of Claude can autonomously assess task complexity and call the appropriate capabilities, and can continue tasks in the background. It will be rolled out to Pro and Max users in the coming weeks.
From "Answer Window" to "Outcome Space"
This integration breaks the traditional human-computer interaction model: Claude has transformed from an "answer window" into an "outcome space." Users can now complete document drafting, slide creation, and visual design within the chat interface. Content remains in the same context, and it supports editing, annotations, exporting, and sharing.
This also reflects that AI giants like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google are competing for the new operating system entrance in the AI era. The competition logic of AI products is shifting toward showing users the fewest options and letting AI absorb complexity, with Agents becoming the foundational architecture of AI products.
