Apple has currently pushed the iOS 27, watchOS 27, iPadOS 27, and visionOS 27 updates to compatible devices, with the long-awaited Siri AI upgrade becoming a core feature of the four systems. Currently, Siri AI is only available in a beta version in English, and Apple stated that it will further support French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish in October.

In addition to Siri AI, iOS 27 adds a Liquid Glass opacity slider, allowing users to choose between more transparent and more subdued interface effects; several built-in apps have updated icon designs, and include large-sized widgets, as well as independent volume settings for ringtones, alarms, timers, alerts, and system sounds.

watchOS 27 introduces the Workout Buddy feature, tap gestures, Liquid Glass optimization, Smart Stack suggestions, and an improved Find My. iPadOS 27 improves file transfer speed for external drives and web browsing speed, and optimizes the connection switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data. visionOS 27 brings a full Siri AI upgrade for the Apple Vision Pro, supports previewing notifications by looking with your eyes, updates the Control Center interface, improves Wi-Fi connection, and allows panoramic photos taken to be used as immersive scenes and environments.

In terms of device compatibility, iOS 27 supports iPhone 11, iPhone SE (second generation), and later models; watchOS 27 supports Apple Watch SE 3, Series 9 and above, as well as Apple Watch Ultra 2 and above. This update signifies that Apple is further embedding generative AI capabilities into its multiple device operating systems.
