Anthropic has once again secured a large amount of computing power. According to sources, the developer of Claude has signed a six-year, $13.7 billion computing power procurement agreement with Rum Group. Rum Group originated in the social media sector and has long been connected with the Trump administration - meaning that Anthropic's list of computing power suppliers now includes another new name with political ties.

This is not an isolated move, but the latest in a series of major cloud computing deals that Anthropic has made over the past year. Its list of partners has expanded widely: large cloud service providers such as Google, technology companies such as SpaceX, and emerging small cloud vendors such as Nscale have all been brought on board. These agreements combined can provide at least 14.8 gigawatts of computing power, with total investments potentially reaching up to $517 billion over the next decade. At a time when demand for products such as Claude Code and Cowork is surging, this deal with Rum Group will further strengthen the computing infrastructure base.
