Anthropic has entered into a lease agreement with Nscale, a UK-based AI infrastructure data company, to rent AI computing power worth approximately $45 billion. According to TechCrunch, citing sources, this resource will be supplied from Nscale's flagship data center in West Virginia, USA, and is expected to power Anthropic's AI services starting at the end of 2027, with a contract period of six years.

The new generation flagship chip "Vera Rubin" is at the center

Within just two years of its establishment, Nscale has partnered with major companies such as Microsoft, and for this project, it will supply through NVIDIA's latest chip system "Vera Rubin." Vera Rubin consists of six different chips working in coordination and is considered one of the most advanced architectures currently available. This will serve as an important foundation for Anthropic's next-generation models.

This is the latest transaction in which Anthropic has rapidly expanded its computing capacity. Over the past eight months, it has continuously increased its investments to catch up with OpenAI. This month, it signed a contract for Volta and a data center in Norway worth $1 billion, and in July, it concluded a $5 billion discussion with AMD. In May, it was revealed that it obtains about $1.25 billion in computing power monthly from two data centers owned by SpaceX, which is owned by Musk. Additionally, in April, it expanded its partnerships with Amazon (adding 5 gigawatts), Google, and Boring.
