Recently, ByteDance's smart assistant Doubao announced a major update to its "Work Tasks" mode - the official launch of the mobile phone remote control computer function. Users just need to complete a simple authorization on the Doubao app on their mobile phone, and they can take over the computer logged in with the same account at any time, handle desktop tasks, breaking the device restrictions in the office scenario, and providing a more flexible solution for mobile work.

According to the official introduction, this feature supports retrieving file context in the local computer environment, efficiently handling documents, images, code, tables, and other types of materials, and completing complex computer operations. It has been verified for practicality in multiple high-frequency office scenarios: for example, if a user leaves home and finds that a file on the computer has not been sent, they can remotely search for local files on their phone, complete format conversions such as Pages to PDF, and send them back to the phone; when temporarily receiving modification suggestions but the computer is not nearby, they can remotely instruct the computer to generate summaries and charts and synchronize them to the phone; it also supports linking multiple computers with a single phone, enabling cross-device collaboration, and sending files from different computers to the phone in a unified way.

The operation threshold has also been significantly reduced: users just need to update Doubao to the latest version, log in with the same account as the computer, select the "Work Tasks" mode, click "Cloud Computer" to choose the operating environment, receive an SMS verification code to complete the authorization binding, and then quickly connect to the device and start using it.

Industry analysts believe that this feature accurately addresses the pain point of professionals who need to urgently handle work without having their computer nearby, further implementing the cross-terminal collaboration capabilities of smart assistants, and is expected to become the new standard in mobile office scenarios.
