ByteDance's Volcano Engine officially announced the Seedance 2.5 video generation large model at the 2026 Volcano Engine FORCE Original Power Conference. The model is currently in the global enterprise beta testing phase and is expected to be officially launched in early July, achieving a significant upgrade in video generation capabilities compared to its predecessor.

30 seconds directly generated + 50 material inputs, significantly improved controllability

Seedance 2.5 brings two major breakthroughs: generating a single native 30-second video directly, and importing up to 50 multimodal reference materials simultaneously. This means users can draw inspiration, refer to styles, or guide visual details from a large number of materials, significantly enhancing controllability and precision in the video generation and editing process. In the past, AI-generated videos often relied on "luck," but Seedance 2.5 is moving toward a direction where "the user is in charge."

At the same time, the previous version Seedance 2.0 has also been upgraded, adding the ability to generate native 4K videos, with image quality further approaching professional production standards.

Classic movies by Stephen Chow can also be "AI reinterpreted," with over ten thousand templates created on the first day

The conference also previewed ByteDance's newly launched AI copyright commercialization platform for the first time. Hong Kong renowned director and actor Stephen Chow became one of the first collaborators. Based on this copyright platform combined with Seedance video generation technology, users can perform secondary creation on classic movie clips of Stephen Chow on Douyin, Jiemian, Qianchuan, and all tools platforms that have integrated Seedance. Tan Dai, president of Volcano Engine, revealed that related templates and the number of creations on the same day have exceeded ten thousand times. From video generation tools to copyright commercialization platforms, ByteDance is redefining the boundaries and methods of AI content creation with the combination of "technology + IP."
