Recently, WeChat, a popular social application under Tencent, quietly launched a limited gray-scale test of its native AI assistant "Xiao Wei". Users who obtained the internal testing qualifications found that a dedicated "Xiao Wei" icon has appeared in the upper left corner of the WeChat main interface. Clicking it will enter an AI interaction window similar to the standard chat interface.
According to the official response from Tencent customer service, this feature is a native AI service tested by the WeChat team on a small scale. It allows users to directly operate WeChat's native functions and launch mini programs through text or voice conversations. It covers diverse application scenarios such as sending messages to friends, checking friend circles, and booking services.

As the first true native AI assistant within the WeChat ecosystem, the gray-scale launch of "Xiao Wei" marks a key step for Tencent in moving AI large models toward large-scale applications. Unlike previous AI tools accessed through official accounts or third-party mini programs, "Xiao Wei" has higher system-level permissions and ecosystem integration, allowing it to directly deconstruct and execute complex user instructions. This will further reshape WeChat from a "real-time communication and lifestyle service platform" into an "intelligent assistant entry point".
The current function is still in the early stage of a small-scale test. With the maturation of algorithms and optimization of computing power, Tencent is expected to expand the internal testing scope in the near future. This "native AI transformation" driven by leading applications not only will reshape the daily interaction habits of billions of users, but also provide important references for the industrialization of AI in the entire mobile internet ecosystem.
