This means that Getty Images' extensive licensed image library resources will be fully integrated into ChatGPT, providing more visually impactful content support in users' search and discovery scenarios.

As a leader in the field of commercial photography and visual content, Getty Images has already made efforts in the AI field. Previously, it partnered with NVIDIA to launch the "Generative AI by Getty Images" generative AI tool. The unique aspect of this tool is that all images used for model training come from Getty Images' licensed collection, and it promises comprehensive legal protection for the generated works, effectively addressing the common copyright gray areas in AI content creation.

In fact, this "model + content licensing" model has become OpenAI's core strategic approach. Looking back, OpenAI has clearly been building a rigorous copyright ecosystem loop: as early as July 2023, it renewed a six-year cooperation agreement with the well-known image platform Shutterstock, legally introducing image, video, and music assets to continuously provide high-quality training data for its AI models.

In April 2024, the company reached a deep collaboration with the UK's Financial Times, not only using its rich database to train large models but also bringing more authoritative news summaries and information links to ChatGPT users.

With the confirmation of this cooperation with Getty Images, OpenAI further expands its moat in multimodal search and information interaction.
